202 - Shooting RED

In this advanced class we go beyond the setup and teach you how to make the most of this camera's many capabilities. Areas covered include Slow Motion, Time Lapse, Speed Ramp, along with sound and time code. We will concentrate on problem solving strategies and tools to bring this sometimes mysterious camera down to size. This class is perfect for individuals accustomed to shooting with 24P HD cameras.

Red One Crash Course - 3hr. / $125.00 - Wednesdays

The Red One is controlled via a menu system not unlike many other digital cameras. The two major issues when using the Red are remaining oriented within the camera’s menu structure and an effective postproduction workflow.

We use a menu diagram (http://www.octamas.com/red-one-software-downloads-postproduktion_e.php) as a guide to orient you within the camera's menu system. This Workshop uses hands on exercises to familiarize you with the camera system. We will look at camera settings, time code and basic sound set up.

With the footage we shoot we will go thought ingestion and transcoding process using Final Cut Pro. Mastering for distribution and data storage will be our main focus.
