This workshop serves as a crash course to greatly improve your vérité shooting. We will begin by looking at some exceptional vérité scenes from existing films to uncover the effective techniques these cinematographers used to tell their stories.
Afterward our experienced instructor will lead a hands-on workshop teaching the key skills to greatly improving your vérité shooting skills. As a group we will work on framing, moving the camera, quickly reading a scene and many other techniques.
While we believe becoming a master vérité shooter takes much time (and lots of practice) this workshop will help you feel more comfortable behind your camera.
– Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own cameras
Vérité is the one mode of production that gives the cameraperson complete control over what is filmed. You become a improvisational storyteller with your tools being camera placement, framing, movement and scene coverage. Learn to use the camera to reveal the story playing itself out in the real world in real time.
